Meg and Dia - Something Real

This is the album cover for the album which has my chosen song featured on it.
It features the two main vocalists from the band (Meg and Dia) though the photo seems washed of colour and sepia tinted. It has been made to look like a book,  which suggests that there is a story behind the album and the songs.
Though the “book” is made to look aged, with a distressed leather effect and gold guilded looking text, the photo of the girls is clearly relatively recent, as they are wearing 21st century styled clothes and accessories. I think the front of the album fits with the actual music, as they use some classical instruments such as a piano in some songs. It also adds a romantic feel, which the lyrics in most the songs depict that the artists are clearly quite romantic at heart.

Foo FIghters Magazine advert analysis

The First thing you notice about this advertisement is the big Foo Fighters logo in the middle of the image, making it unmistakable as to who the advertisement is for. Fans of the band will recognise the logo almost instantly, and for those who dont, the band name is clearly displayed across the top of the page. the background is a sort of riveted metal sheeting, which more than hints that the band is far from a pop group.  The name of the album is the Greatest Hits, which suggests that not only is this not the bands first album but they've already established quite a name for themselves. The release date of the album is right underneath the title, the text a calm yet contrasting colour to the background its on, which draws the eye to it and makes it more noticeable. Underneath that, in smaller text, is the various mediums the album is available in (cd, cd/dvd, lp, download) and also mentions the inclusion of specific songs from various previous albums.
